Whitefield Tournament is the largest outdoor volleyball event in England. With up to 140 teams in attendance each summer, it is the privilege of the players and supporters of the City of Bristol Volleyball Club to run this event. We have been doing so successfully for over 40 years.

Our club members and other volunteers commit their time over a weekend in July to help organise this important fund raiser, which then feeds money back into the club to help with fees and equipment.

We don’t enter a team as there is a lot of work to do, but often our players get to fill in and play to help out teams that are short of players throughout the 2 days.

It is a 6-a-side, 2 day event for Men, Women and Mixed teams, with children’s entertainment, disco, catering and camping on site.

Held at Whitefield School in Bristol in its infancy, the tournament grew in size and moved to Bath Recreation Ground (the Rec) where it stayed for many successful years.

In 2015 however, the regulations at the Rec changed leaving us with no camping facilities and limited parking, so we had little choice but to move home.

The new venue at South Bristol Sports Centre (aka the Imperial Ground) is a fantastic venue and we have had almost 10 happy years here.
